Treatments Your visit

Your first visit, without the uncertainty

You do not need to arrive with the right medical words. Start with what has changed, what is difficult and what you hope to understand.

Before the appointment

Check the location, appointment type, fee and treatment language. Wear clothing that lets you move comfortably. Bring a list of questions and any relevant information your practitioner has specifically asked you to bring; do not upload medical documents through the general website form.

During the conversation

Your practitioner can ask about your concerns, everyday activities and goals, then explain the proposed assessment. Ask what each step involves. You can ask for a pause, decline a proposed examination or discuss alternatives.

Before you leave

Ask for a clear summary: what was discussed, which next steps were agreed and how to contact the practice about the plan. Further appointments should be explained rather than assumed. The website does not set a fixed number of sessions for everyone.

How to prepare for a physiotherapy appointment

  • Note what brought you to the appointment, when you noticed a change and which activities are affected. A few useful examples are easier to discuss than a long collection of possible internet diagnoses. Include what you hope to understand, not only what you hope will change.

  • Confirm the practitioner, location, appointment type, duration and price. Check the treatment language separately from the website language. Ask ahead about physical access or communication support that you need.

  • Follow any preparation instructions from the clinic. If a clinician requests existing reports or other medical information, ask for the approved secure way to provide it. Do not upload records through a public contact form or send sensitive documents to an unverified address.

  • You can ask why an examination is proposed, what alternatives exist and how the next step will be reviewed. Before leaving, check that you understand the explanation and the agreed follow-up arrangements. Being prepared should make the conversation easier, not make you feel you must arrive with all the answers.

Questions

Questions

What should I wear?

Choose clothing that allows comfortable movement and follow any specific preparation instructions from the clinic. Ask ahead if you have privacy or access concerns.

Can I send medical documents through the form?

No. The public form is for administrative enquiries. Ask the clinic for its approved secure route if a clinician requests medical information.
