Begin with your everyday experience
Explain which activities are difficult: reaching, walking, sitting, lifting or getting back to work. Describe when the issue began and what you would like to do more comfortably. You do not need to arrive with your own diagnosis.
Understand the proposed assessment
A practitioner may discuss your history and examine relevant movement, then explain what the findings suggest and whether further assessment elsewhere is appropriate. This page cannot establish the cause of your symptoms.
Agree practical next steps
Ask about the purpose of any suggested exercise, advice or hands-on approach, the alternatives and how progress will be reviewed. There is no universal package or fixed recovery deadline on this website.
Before you book
Check the practitioner’s role and treatment languages, then review the appointment duration, fee and location. Use the first-visit guide to prepare questions; keep medical documents out of the public enquiry form.
